General Description
The Monarch is an all fiberglass constructed three deck twin screw diesel powered motor yacht designed by Jonathon Quinn Barnett. Northern Marine began construction on the yacht which was then completed by Delta Marine Industries (Hull No. [removed phone]) during 2011. Main propulsion was provided by two (2) Caterpillar 3512B turbocharged marine diesel engines that develop a total of 4500 horsepower @ 1925 RPM through ZF ZF 4650A marine reverse/reduction gearboxes with gear ratios of 3.040:1. The vessel was further equipped with an American Bow Thruster 24 hydraulic driven tunnel style bow thruster rated at 120 horsepower.Registered dimensions were 39.51 m x 9.08 m x 2.66 m (129.6 x 29.8 x 8.7).
Flying Bridge
The flying bridge deck was sheathed with teak planking with black rubberized caulk. It was enclosed forward to port and starboard by white polished fiberglass bulwarks and aft by three-tier stainless steel pipe handrails. The forward perimeter of the bulwarks was capped with 16 glass panels. The entire forward portion of the deck was protected overhead by a solid white polished fiberglass covering fitted with recessed incandescent spot lights and JL Audio all-weather speakers.A large Marquis Spas whirlpool tub was situated at centerline on the forward flying bridge deck and settees with taupe velour cushions were located to port and starboard. A gray granite table was mounted at the aft extreme of the whirlpool tub across its full width. Three stainless steel swivel stools with white leather cushions were mounted to the deck just aft the table. A U-shaped bar service area also constructed of white polished fiberglass was situated at centerline on the flying bridge just aft the whirlpool tub and. The bar was finished with upper and lower granite countertops and inlaid gray blue and white tile on the other face. A stainless steel sink was set into the lower counter. Five (5) Dedon rattan bar stools with beige fabric cushions were situated along the outer perimeter of the bar. A Sharp Aquos 52 flat screen television was set into the centerline bulkhead just aft the bar. A tall Dedon rattan table with a glass top was located to starboard of the bar and was furnished with two additional Dedon rattan bar stools.The interior face of the bar was equipped with several single and double door cabinets which provided storage for bar supplies a Viking refrigerator and Scotsman ice maker.A Dedon couch two (2) arm chairs coffee table and an end table were situated just aft the bar. The couch and chairs were upholstered with the same beige fabric as the bar stools. A day head which was constructed with a white fiberglass overhead and bulkheads and teak flooring similar to that on the flying bridge deck was molded into the starboard side bulwarks. The day head was equipped with a white molded fiberglass vanity gray granite countertop porcelain hand sink and toilet.Four (4) Dedon chaise lounges with beige fabric upholstery were spaced along the aft perimeter of the deck. Two (2) DBC 12-person inflatable life raft canisters were secured to port and starboard in specially fabricated cradles by way of Hammar hydrostatic releasing devices.
Upper Deck Exterior
A curving stairway with teak treads and stainless steel handrail led down from the starboard side of the flying bridge deck to the teak planked aft upper deck. The aft upper deck was similarly protected by a white polished fiberglass covering overhead with a patterned insert at center 36 fiberglass bulwarks to port and starboard and a two-tier stainless steel pipe handrail aft.Push button operated tinted glass double doors with polished stainless steel frames were set into the forward bulkhead which separated the exterior aft deck from the interior Sky Lounge. A fiberglass cabinet fitted with single and double door cupboards set in its inboard faade a light brown granite counter and stainless steel sink was built along the port bulwark area. The cupboards were used for general storage and also housed a Scotsman icemaker and Sub Zero refrigerator. A Fisher and Paykel DCS stainless steel gas barbeque grill with hinged lid and rotisserie was recessed into the granite countertop just forward the sink.A large circular highly polished hardwood table supported by a 16 diameter stainless steel column was located on the aft deck at centerline surrounded by eight Dedon rattan chairs with beige upholstery. Dedon rattan couches also with beige upholstery were situated to port and starboard of centerline along the aft portion of the deck and faced inboard toward a centerline coffee table. Two additional cushioned arm chairs and end table were set to port and starboard of the couches.A single door locker built into the starboard side bulwark provided access to a fire station which was outfitted with 50 of fire hose a brass nozzle and the start/stop switch for the fire pump.
Bridge
The bridge was located forward in the upper deck of the vessel. It was sheathed with off white padded fabric panels overhead macaray wood paneling on the bulkheads and light brown carpet on the deck. Incandescent spot lights were recessed into the overhead panels.Eleven (11) canted tinted glass windows were set into the bridges curved forward bulkhead. The navigation/control console constructed with macaray paneling on its faade a black laminate counter and padded tan leather trim spanned the width of the forward bulkhead just below the windows. The compartment was lined along its starboard and aft bulkheads with upper and lower macaray cabinets and an L-shaped black granite desk top. Bow Deck
The teak planked bow deck was enclosed to port and starboard by white polished fiberglass bulwarks fitted with stainless steel mooring line chocks and freeing ports. Muir stainless steel anchor windlasses with vertical capstans and screw type devils claw anchor securing devices were mounted to port and starboard of centerline on the bow deck.A 19 Nautica RIB tender was mounted on the bow deck in a specially fabricated cradle to port while a 15 Nautica RIB tender was similarly mounted to starboard. A Steelhead Marine CT-4000 telescoping boat davit rated at 4000 lb. safe working load was mounted in the port aft corner of the bow deck. In the stowed position the horizontal davit boom laid flush with the port side bulwarks but while in operation the boom pedestal telescoped upward allowing the boom to reach both tenders in their cradles and place them in the water or haul the boats out of the water and replace them in their respective cradles.
Main Deck Interior
Owners Stateroom:A curving staircase with brown carpeted treads led down from the transverse upper deck corridor to a longitudinal passageway in the main deck interior. The owners stateroom was situated at the forward extreme of the passageway and was sheathed with a highly polished macaray hardwood panel at centerline on the overhead with the off white padded fabric panels to port and starboard. The bulkheads were covered with a combination of macaray hardwood panels and bronze metallic grass cloth wall paper the floor was covered with tan plush carpeting and was illuminated with small incandescent spot lights recessed into the overhead panels. The port and starboard stateroom bulkheads were each fitted with two (2) windows that were equipped with white fabric blinds.A 64 Sharp Aquos flat screen television was set into the forward bulkhead at centerline. An L-shaped settee with white fabric upholstered cushions was built into the starboard forward corner. A six-drawer dresser was built into the port side bulkhead just below the windows. An ebony dressing table with hinged lid and beige upholstered chair was located along the aft bulkhead to port.A king sized bunk with tan leather padded pedestal extended forward from the aft bulkhead. A mirror was mounted to the bulkhead aft bulkhead above and across the width of the bed. Polished hardwood night stands macaray shelves and decorative gooseneck reading lights were fitted to port and starboard of the bed.The owners head extended forward from port side of the stateroom and was sheathed with off white padded fabric panels overhead grass cloth wallpaper on the bulkheads and off white marble flooring on the deck. Small incandescent spot lights were recessed into the overhead panels.A full sized jetted tub with light brown marble trim was situated at the port extreme of the head and a macaray vanity with marble countertop and two (2) porcelain sinks was constructed along the aft bulkhead. The owners head was further equipped with the following: Marble lined shower stall with glass door Double door cedar lined hanging locker Two (2) mirrorsA separate similarly sheathed toilet room was located forward off the head. A walk in closet which was fully cedar lined was located at the starboard extreme of the head.Just aft the owners stateroom a transverse corridor extended off of the longitudinal passageway to port. The passenger elevator was accessed from the aft extreme of the corridor while a small day head was located forward off the corridor. The day head was sheathed with white padded fabric panels overhead bronze metallic laminate panels on the bulkheads and light brown marble flooring on the deck. Incandescent spot lights were recessed into the overhead panels.The day head was equipped with the following: Macaray/crotched mahogany vanity with marble countertop and porcelain hand sink Mirror ToiletGalley:The galley was located at the port extreme of the corridor and was sheathed with the off white padded fabric panels overhead a combination of grass cloth wallpaper and marble panels on the bulkheads and laminate hardwood flooring on the deck. Incandescent spot lights were recessed into the overhead panels.The galley was constructed in a U-shaped design with upper and lower macaray cabinets and storage drawers with crotched mahogany inserts along the port starboard and forward bulkheads. The lower cabinets were topped with marble counters.Appliances and equipment noted in the galley were as follows: Sub Zero refrigerator/freezer Sub Zero refrigerator Fisher and Paykel DCS stainless steel convection/microwave oven Miele stainless steel double door oven Miele stainless steel dishwasher Miele smooth top cook top Vent-A-Hood stainless steel exhaust hood Walk in pantryA small macaray/crotched mahogany desk with a marble desk top extended out from the port bulkhead just aft the galley countertop. The desk was outfitted with two (2) stainless steel swivel stools with leather upholstered cushions. A Sharp 30 flat screen television was mounted on the bulkhead just above the desk.An additional food preparation station which was outfitted with upper and lower macaray/crotched mahogany cabinets marble countertop and a stainless steel deep sink extended inboard just aft the galley desk. The food preparation station was equipped with the following: Miele stainless steel dishwasher Scotsman ice maker General Electric stainless steel trash compactorDining Area:A transverse partition separated the aftmost portion of the galley from the dining area which spanned the full width of the main deck interior. The dining area was sheathed with off white padded fabric panels overhead polished macaray hardwood panels on the bulkheads and tan and gold patterned carpeting on the deck. Incandescent spot lights were recessed into the overhead panels.The port and starboard bulkheads of the dining area were each fitted with two (2) windows with macaray sills and white fabric blinds. Polished ebony sideboards were mounted on the port and starboard bulkheads just below the windows and were each outfitted with a pair of decorative lamps. A transversely oriented hardwood dining table was set in the center of the dining room surrounded by six (6) hardwood chairs with gold fabric upholstered cushions.Main Salon:The main salon extended aft from the dining area. It was sheathed overhead with padded white fabric panels overhead with a recessed white wood panel at the center. The bulkheads were covered by white wood panels with white fabric inserts and bronzed grass cloth wainscoting. The deck was covered with the same carpeting noted in the dining area. Incandescent spotlights were recessed into the overhead panels and tape lighting surrounded the overhead wood panel.The port and starboard bulkheads in the main salon were each fitted with macaray sills and white fabric blinds.Furnishings noted about the main salon were as follows: Two (2) settees with white fabric upholstered cushions
Main Deck Exterior
Aft Deck:A pair of push button operated sliding glass doors with stainless steel framing set into the aft bulkhead of the main salon led out to the aft deck. The aft deck was clad with caulked teak planking and was enclosed to port starboard and aft by 28 high light blue polished fiberglass bulwarks. The upper deck above extended aft to function as an overhead cover for the aft main deck. Multiple recessed incandescent lights were fitted in way.A white fiberglass double door cabinet was located in the port forward portion of the aft deck. The cabinet was topped by a light brown granite counter with a stainless steel hand sink. The port cabinet door on the inner faade of the cabinet/bar provided access to storage while the starboard door concealed a small Sub Zero refrigerator. A transversely oriented U-shaped settee was molded into the full width of the aft bulwark and was finished with light brown fabric upholstered cushions. A light brown granite table was mounted atop stainless steel support stanchions to port and starboard of centerline just forward the settee. A pair of Dedon rattan arm chairs were situated around the remainder of the table perimeter for additional seating.A watertight door which provided emergency egress from the engine room was built into the port bulkhead just forward the previously described cabinet. A locker built in the starboard bulkhead provided access to a fire station equipped with 50 of 1.5 fire hose and a brass nozzle.Muir stainless steel electric vertical capstans with deck mounted push button controls and stainless steel double bitts were mounted in the port and starboard aft corners of the deck adjacent to the mooring line chocks set into the outboard bulwarks.
Lower Deck
Crews Accommodations and Storage:A curving staircase led down from the galley area to the below deck crews accommodations. A storage room that contained miscellaneous supplies needed by the crew was located at the forward extreme of the lower deck. The forward bulkhead of the compartment was lined with wood shelves with multiple plastic storage bins. A longitudinal passageway which provided access to the various crew bunkrooms extended aft from the storeroom. The mates bunkroom was situated to starboard forward and was sheathed with off white padded fabric panels overhead light brown grass cloth wallpaper on the bulkheads and brown carpeting on the deck. Small incandescent spot lights were recessed into the overhead panels.The mates bunkroom was furnished with the following: Raised macaray framed single bunk with storage drawers and cupboards below Incandescent reading light Macaray double door hanging locker Macaray double door cupboard Macaray built in dresser with hanging locker Intercom handset Sharp 17 flat screen televisionThe mates bunkroom had an adjoining head forward which was sheathed similarly except with hardwood laminate flooring. White Corian counters topped the lower cabinets with a stainless steel double-basin sink set into the counter forward. An L-shaped settee with cream leatherette upholstery was fitted in the aft port corner of the lounge. Swim Platform
Port and starboard curving stairways with teak non-skid treads led down from the aft main deck to the swim platform which extended aft from the stern transom. The swim platform was clad with caulked teak planking and was enclosed aft by a removable stainless steel single tier pipe handrail. Stainless steel double bitts were mounted to port and starboard with stainless steel fold down cleats in recesses along the aft perimeter of the platform. Hinged flush mount hatches built into the aft transom provided access to the passarelle shore power cords and fresh water valves.
Machinery Spaces
A watertight hatch built into the stern transom at centerline provided access to a stairway that led down to the vessels machinery spaces.Engine Room:The engine room was located at the forward extreme of the machinery spaces and was sheathed with white aluminum panels overhead and on the bulkheads and sound attenuating rubberized diamond deck plates. The engine room was lit by recessed overhead fluorescent light fixtures with translucent safety covers. Safety lighting was also positioned in strategic locations throughout the room. Caterpillar 3512B turbocharged main engines were bolted to their respective foundations to port and starboard in the engine room. Each main engine develops 2250 horsepower @ 1925 rpm for a total of 4500 horsepower through ZF ZF 4650 A reverse/reduction gearboxes with gear ratios of 3.040:1.
